Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

These Terms govern use of Dahlia Voss | The Darkroom. By entering through Patreon and using the service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

2. Adults only

You must be at least 18 years old to use The Darkroom. The interactive rooms are designed as fictional character experiences and may include romance, flirtation, fantasy themes and mature emotional material, but the chat service is not presented as an explicit sexual-content generator.

3. What the service provides

The Darkroom is an interactive fictional character world. Access can include character rooms, AI-generated replies, persistent relationship memory, Connection XP, Frames, galleries, collectible cards, notices and membership-specific features.

Dahlia and the other characters are fictional personas. Their statements are generated for entertainment and relationship-roleplay purposes and should not be treated as statements by a real person.

4. AI-generated content

Character replies are generated with an AI model and can be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent or unexpected. Do not rely on a character for medical, legal, financial, emergency, mental-health or other professional advice. The service does not guarantee that a character will always remember a detail correctly or that every generated reply will be available indefinitely.

5. Patreon membership and payment

Authentication and membership entitlements are verified through Patreon. Payments, billing, taxes, cancellations and Patreon-side refunds are handled by Patreon under Patreon’s own terms and policies.

The Darkroom may show different access depending on the entitlement information Patreon provides. If Patreon data is temporarily stale, the service may ask you to refresh or sign in again.

6. Frames, XP and collectibles

Frames, Connection XP, cards, unlocks and similar in-service progression are digital service features. They are not currency, have no cash value, are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for money.

The service may offer a one-time complimentary preview with a limited number of trial Frames for a selected room. Trial availability, amount and selected character can change, and trial Frames do not convert to cash or paid Frames.

Connection progress is designed to persist across ordinary membership changes so that returning members can continue where they left off. Access to particular rooms/cards can still depend on the current membership tier. Technical corrections, anti-abuse measures, service migrations or discontinued features may require adjustments to balances or progression.

7. Room availability

A room marked “Available” may become temporarily “Busy” when active generation capacity is full. Access to a membership tier does not guarantee that every room will be continuously available at every moment. Temporary capacity limits, provider outages, maintenance and daily usage limits may interrupt access.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, do not:

• use The Darkroom for illegal activity or to facilitate harm;
• attempt to bypass membership gates, Frames, room limits or owner-only controls;
• probe for secrets, API keys, private system prompts or other protected implementation data;
• attack, scrape, overload or interfere with the service or other members;
• upload or submit malware or exploit payloads;
• impersonate another Patreon member or attempt to access another member’s private record;
• submit content you do not have the right to provide.

9. Your messages and generated replies

You keep any rights you already hold in text you submit. You grant the operator and necessary service providers permission to process that text only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service as described in the Privacy Policy.

Because AI-generated text may not be unique and intellectual-property rules for AI output vary by jurisdiction, The Darkroom does not promise that generated replies are exclusive to you or that they qualify for copyright protection.

10. The Darkroom intellectual property

The Darkroom name, interface, original character identities, curated artwork, card designs, worldbuilding, logos and other creator-supplied materials remain the property of their respective rights holders. Membership grants personal access to the service; it does not grant permission to resell, redistribute, scrape, clone or commercially exploit those materials unless separately authorized.

11. Privacy

Use of The Darkroom involves processing membership identifiers, progress, limited persistent character memory and service-usage metadata. AI messages are sent to the configured Google Gemini API to produce replies. Read the Privacy Policy before using live rooms.

12. Suspension and termination

Access may be restricted or terminated where reasonably necessary to protect the service, other users, providers or legal rights, including for fraud, abuse, security attacks or repeated violation of these Terms. Patreon membership cancellation can also change which features are available.

13. Service changes

The Darkroom is an evolving independent project. Features, model providers, limits, character behavior, room capacity, membership benefits and availability can change. Material changes affecting paid access will be communicated where reasonably practicable.

14. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided for entertainment on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, no guarantee is made that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly secure or that AI output will always be accurate or appropriate.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections that apply in your jurisdiction.

15. Third-party services

Patreon, Cloudflare and Google provide services that The Darkroom depends on. Their availability and their own terms/privacy rules are outside The Darkroom’s direct control. Links to third-party services do not make those services part of The Darkroom.

16. Contact and changes to these Terms

Questions about these Terms can be sent to the Patreon direct-message channel associated with your Dahlia Voss | The Darkroom membership. These Terms may be updated as the service changes. The current version and effective date will always be shown on this page.
